Courage

“Have the courage to take your own thoughts seriously.”

This has always been one of my favorite Einstein quotes. At times it can be surprisingly difficult to do, taking one’s own thoughts seriously. To put our own thoughts alongside the leaders, pundits, commentators, et al that we hear every day. To consider the basic facts of a situation and to use our own intellect to assess and make decisions on our path forward.

Sometimes we get intelligent, considered assessment and reporting of facts, ofttimes we do not. We get spin, and subterfuge and misdirection.

Let us be informed as to the objectively identifiable elements of situation X, and then let us think and discuss and ruminate and debate.

As I look up one of my other favorite AE quotes, ‘imagination is more important than knowledge’, I find the complete quote to be especially salient in these times;

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution."

May we all have the courage to look to the future and take responsibility for our path forward.

✌️♥️🙏
